Yurt camera obscura - cloud table

WELCOME TO YURTWORKS

Yurts for dancing and partying, yurt hire, yurt holidays, yurts for living, yurts for storytelling, yoga yurts, yurts for art and music, and yurts for just getting away from it all.....the last two years seem to be the years yurts hit the mainstream featuring on breakfast time tv and countless weekly glossy magazines. This has got to be a good thing, at last the potential of this wonderful tent is being recognised by a far wider public.

Please see the latest news page for opportunities to see our yurts at work as well as any other interesting events or workshops in the pipeline.

In addition to our normal range of yurts to hire, our camera obscura yurt is available for photography workshops or to hire as an attraction on its own at festivals and other events.

Yurtworks has been making fine hand made yurts from local wood since 1997 at our workshop on the edge of the moor in north Cornwall. As the business has grown we have expanded into yurt hire and rental as a more beautiful alternative to the traditional marquee. We also run Cornish yurt holidays for short stays or longer visits on our 40 acre organic smallholding, providing a good opportunity to find out about the appeal of yurt life and living a little closer to the land.

Visits to the Kyrgyz Republic and Mongolia, to meet yurt and ger makers, has helped us explore in more depth, what it is that makes these tents so unique. We specialise in the Kyrgyz style yurt and while some changes have had to be made to suit our climate the aim is to build yurts to a very high standard that still retain the beauty and strength of the originals.

The website is divided into three main sections yurts to buy, yurts to hire and Cornish yurt holidays. There are also gallery, links and questions pages which may be of more general interest. We shall be adding details about our yurt camera obscura and the workshops we offer. Comments good or bad are always welcome.
