The Oak Wood Yurt
“There have been so many highlights to this holiday that it would be daft to list them. You guys have created a beautiful and inspiring corner of the world and it's been a true pleasure to stay a while.” Neil and Sophie, September 2011
18ft, Sleeps 4
It is lined with gold coloured liners on the roof and rich red liners around the walls, a Kyrgyz woven band wraps around the roof poles. It has a wide arched doorway opening onto a small porch covered deck. it is well sheltered from the weather, surrounded by oak trees, hazel and gorse, while the yurt itself sits in its own secluded clearing, with a site for a campfire and outdoor picnic table. Inside it is as well equipped as the 16ft with wood burning stove and and gas cooker with two rings and a grill. It has its own compost toilet yurt nearby. This was the first yurt to have solar lighting as well as the candle lanterns, which has been useful at the darker ends of the season.
